The Minecraft 1.5 Release

Postby Inscrutable » Fri Mar 15, 2013 5:39 pm

I have set up a vanilla server running MC 1.5.0 in place of the usual Creative server.

This gives everyone an opportunity to try out Mojang's latest server bugs and exploits.

I will reinstate the Spigot-1.4.7 server tomorrow morning.
MC 1.5 will be back when we have a Spigot build for it
(and when Mojang release a stable version, 1.5.1 is already at prerelease).

I have put up MC 1.5.1 with the latest Spigot, and a selection of updated plugins
(WorldEdit, WorldGuard, VoxelSniper, Stargate, and more). Give it a try now.

It looks like we will be able to fully update to MC 1.5.1 in a day or two,
and the old worlds can return.

.... and in typical fashion, the most recent builds of Craftbukkit (and also Spigot)
play merry hell with the test server. Stargates don't work reliably, nor break properly,
tile entities (rails) often won't place correctly (and disappear on logoff), WorldEdit's compass misfires,
and a bunch of other bizarre errors that seem to be caused by recent CB changes.
(eg Half the time I can't even place a minecart on Rails).

I have left the server off for the time being, I'll get to it tonight and either roll back
to earlier spigot/cb and test
, or just reinstate the 1.47 server for the week.
(It might be a long wait for a decent build of bukkit, as I can't even figure out what
is causing the odd behaviour, even with sg debug enabled. I get exactly the same
issues with Craftbukkit and Spigot, and clearly neither is production grade yet.

{Cut and pasted from the private Mod forum, since its just chat anyway :P}

I just launched the 1.5.1 test server with the new Dynmap 1.6 (Dev build).
All seems to be working, so I might be able to set it all up again on the weekend.
The world "Taste" is Terrain-Control madness, as a mcMMO survival challenge
(LOTS of new stuff in mcMMO, including proper party interaction with Lockette)

The Forge server has been a bit lonesome lately, but we'll run it again for the last
few days before the Aether Mod release. AETHER! BRING IT ON!

Mo-Everything - Forge497/MC1.4.7 atYggdrasyl.dyndns.org:8125

[NIN3 EDIT]Gotta use the same brackets man, drives me crazy :P

ADDENDUM:
Movecraft 3 has been released! At last the airships are free to roam again
Boats, Submarines and Cars aren't working in this version, alas. Hopefully TBA.
Also some bugs are still present, they tend to drop torches and redstone.
Chests (and other inventory blocks) will not travel, but Storage Crates will
(make one by surrounding a chest with planks).

Add a sign with the craft type as first line, and it's name on the third.
Right click it and it tries to detect a craft. If it does, you're good to go.
Use a stick to move it, and /release (or leave for 15 seconds) to exit.
A sign with [helm] on line 1 can be right clicked to become a wheel,
and may be left or right clicked to rotate the ship.
NOTE that Rotation no longer destroys blocks - the craft is blocked from moving instead.

Bugs may still occur, we're giving it some heavy testing.

Craft types: (allowed blocks) (fly blocks) (min size) - WIP more info TBA
Aircraft - all wood, torches, doors, wool
Airship - as above, ladders, glowstone. Needs 60% wool.
Saucer - Almost anything except organic matter. Needs 10% diamond blocks. Min 25.
Elevator - wool, fence, torch, glowstone only. (No Storage Blocks).
